We will have one-hour drive to the ancient city of Jerash, which was a prominent member of the Decapolis during the Roman era. Considered the best example of a Roman provincial city in the Middle East, a knowledgeable local guide will bring the city's history to life as we explore the spectacular Forum, Roman colonnaded street, Nymphaeum, theaters, and the Temple of Artemis.
Once back in the capital, we will continue our tour by visiting the historic downtown area of Amman, starting with a visit to the Citadel. From this vantage point, you can enjoy stunning views of the hilly capital and see remnants from the Roman to the early Islamic periods, such as the Hercules Temple, the Umayyad Palace, and the small Archaeological Museum. The impressive Roman Theatre, which can accommodate up to 6,000 visitors, is also not far away. We will then stroll through the vibrant markets (Souq) in the heart of downtown, where you can find an array of goods such as fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs, clothes, household items, and much more. Finally, we will return to your hotel in Amman.
